Adjustments I am going to do this week:
  1. make the color goes with pyro

  2. add more details on pyro

shot C02 get more details on pyro - Custom Velocity Field?

These days, I’ve been busy rendering AOVs and fine-tuning the material settings. After passing the renders to our compositor, Sydney, and reviewing the pyro in context, I used speed control along with turbulence and disturbance settings, experimenting with different sources for the pyro. Now, I want to add more detail and random noise to the pyro, so I plan to try using a Custom Velocity Field next week. I also need to adjust the lighting, as it currently looks a little too bright.

Custom Velocity Field

Today, I was working on adding more detail to the pyro to see if I could get a better result. I tried using a custom velocity field to guide the pyro, making the movement more interesting and detailed. First, I used a box and scattered points on it. Then, I used an Attribute VOP to add noise to the velocity (v) based on the position (P). I also used a ramp to remap the direction of the wind and force. After that, I took the velocity output from the VOP and used a volume trail to visualize how the trail flows.

But after testing it, I realized the pyro’s movement is too strong and distracting from the painting. I think I should adjust the values further or just stick with the version I have now. But I think this was a good experiment since I now know how to use a custom velocity field, which allows me to easily control the pyro’s movement and add more detail.
